My work is inspired by the shapes and colours of nature.  I work with stoneware and porcelain to create objects for both practical and decorative use. The calming turquoise, dark marines and refreshing greens of the changing Mediterranean sea of my childhood have all been a strong influence in my choice of glazes.

My sculptural work is multi-faceted and takes inspiration from a number of sources.  Sometimes creating playful visualisations of words and sometimes nostalgic interpretations of the flora and fauna of our planet. The discoveries of a huge variety of natural seed pods during my travels in Africa, as well as elsewhere, are a continuing inspiration.  From time to time work is left unfired reinforcing the fragility of the raw clay and creating one less potential find for future archeologists!  Other times I fire in an electric kiln or in an old dustbin using smoke, compost, minerals and other organic material to create a unique patina.

I have a studio nestled in the heart of the creative Stroud Valleys where I also live with my husband, daughter and dogs.
