Kiki Black
Kiki graduated from Caerleon University to follow a teaching career in Primary Education. She specialised in art and clay sculpture, and throughout her teaching career has kept her creative skills alive. Whilst teaching, she became Art Subject leader in a number of schools and has been an active advocate in highlighting the importance of artistic creativity for children and adults alike. She now offers art specialist advice and CPD training to primary schools.
For a number of years, Kiki trained to become a lampworker and created and sold her glass beads and jewellery. However, Clay and sculpting has always been her first love and in 2020 she bought a clay kiln and hasn’t stopped making since. She now focuses on creating ceramic sculptures and homeware. She also runs regular clay classes, tasters and family workshops from her studio in Bicester.
Her artwork is inspired by nature, fantasy and the world around her. However, it is the feeling of letting creativity flow and immersing herself in the making process that most inspires her. By doing this, she sets herself free to express and explore.
