Prerna Chandiramani
Prerna is a Bristol-based artist with Indian roots. Her artistic practice revolves around key components of line, shape and form using print, fold, and stitch. Communication in the form of handwritten letters from home forms the underlying theme in her work. Prerna responds to the properties of paper with a multi-disciplinary approach in the form of prints on both paper and clay, artist books and folded sculptures.
She has studied ceramics at Stroud College and has a Masters in Multidisciplinary printmaking. Having received the Printmakers’ council Graduate award and the Peter Reddick award for Innovation in relief printmaking, Prerna continues her practice from her home studio in Bristol. Her prints and artist books are held in collections at the V & A, University of Bristol and Centre for Fine Print Research. Her work has been published in Printmaking Today and she has exhibited both nationally and internationally at the RWA in Bristol, Athens Print fair and MAKE Southwest among others with the most recent being at Oriel Mon in Anglesey.
