249 Shirley Sharp In Touch

Shirley Sharp

Contemplating the Absurd through painting and sculpting of the character allows me to be playful and serious at the same time.

I began sculpting during my MA (fine art) in 2018, with the goal of taking the drawing a step further into the 3 dimensional – essentially a physical embodiment of the drawing. The sculptural work continues to evolve alongside the drawing leaving traces of one in the other, a continual line of thought where both disciplines inform the other.
